Mommy is staying awfully tired these days, but if I keep moving in the afternoons then I can function at about half-speed. If I sit down- I'm out. asleep. sad.

So, I decided today might as well be the day Raegan and I got started on some Christmas presents I had planned. Since I'm only going at half speed we took the party out to the garage with plastic covered floor and table just.in.case!

I let Raegan freestyle on the paper plates in between parts of our projects so she wouldn't get tired of it all to quickly.

Making handprints is her favorite, even if you didn't ask her to.

Preview of her projects. I found lots of cute hand/foot/finger print ideas online. We're doing a couple at a time so I don't get too overwhelmed!!

Ms. Brenda's class is just full of busy kiddos. They have been learning about mixing colors and shapes.

They also learned about Joseph last week. Raegan calls this his "color jacket."

Raegan learned all about Noah and the ark last week at school and she loved telling me about her boat(!) picture with animals(!)

Fluffy rainclouds and rain...

Raegan's beautiful rainbow says "God always keeps his promises." She loves talking about all the colors.

They also learned their primary colors this week and next week they get to mix paints to learn how to get the secondary colors. All this has finally wore me down to be brave enough for finger paints at home but she doesn't know I have them yet ;)

In the end it looked way worse that it was. Raegan aka Grace, fell face first off a lunchroom stool at school. She busted both sides of her nose pretty good, had a goose egg under the left eye, and scraped her top lip up. THEN, she fell on the way back to the classroom and scraped and bruised up her right knee. She's still sporting the bruises under the eye and on the knee but otherwise is o-k.

Did she learn a lesson? Probably not, she was seen getting up on her knees on that same stool today...

*sigh*

Riding in the car had gone back to making Raegan very.sleepy. Every afternoon she just about falls asleep on the way home. Must be comfy :)

Carseat 1. Chicken nugget 0.

She fell asleep halfway through a Happy Meal after a LONG no-nap Sunday afternoon.

Rocky, after her face plant at school last Friday. Naptime was spent at the doctor's office getting X-rays so the car seat won again.

Another Sunday nap.

Went to Walmart for dog food and it was just too much shopping!! for her little self.

God made me special.

Week 2 for Raegan was all about how God made everything special. Here's her new artwork line outside her room at home to display all of her pretties. There's bugs and butterflies from one summer unit, a fishy from another unit, and the watermelon was from their Fruits of the Spirit unit this summer.

The light blue picture says "God created heaven and earth" and they fingerpainted "sunshines" and grass. The dark blue picture to the right says "God created the moon and stars" and they got to use glitter paint and star sparkles.

Another day they learned all about how God makes everyone special. They made a book about themselves and how they are each unique. One page had a thumbprint, another their handprints with the date, another had all of their favorite things listed, and another had weight/height stuff on it.

Raegan's favorite thing to do at school is play with the "babies" and play dress-up so they put a picture of that in her book (they know all the stuff mommies love to get sneak peeks at).

Raegan started the K2 program at American Christian Academy in June for the summer session, but her first day of big girl (!) school was August 22.

She loves her teachers, Ms. Brenda and Ms. Michelle and she's made all kinds of new friends. Her first friend was Carley, who started with her in June and coincidentally is getting a baby brother in November. (I haven't had a chance to get a picture of them together yet.) She now asks to go see her friends some mornings, and waves "bye" to me most every morning (Ms. Brenda's amazingly simple trick has been wonderful for no tears when I leave! I need to get a picture of her doing that too!)

I'm going to TRY to do a post at least weekly on her school stuff because each week is themed and they do all kinds of fun activities and artwork to go along with them. The first week was all about getting the new kids used to being there. Raegan's buddy Addison from Sunday school started K2 and they were both extremely adorable in their excitement.

I really should give this thing up because I let it go for SO long...

But, I'm giving it another go. Raegan keeps getting funnier by the day and is doing all this cool stuff at school, and then before we know it Elijah will be here.

So somehow, that means more time to update this thing, right?!?!

Raegan and I had a photo shoot today. I hated to waste the beautiful weather so I picked her up early from school and put her in her Easter dress (mine from my 3rd Easter) and we went looking at all the pretty things blooming on campus. She got to stop and watch some squirrells and chipmunks playing (no doubt enjoying the lack of students everywhere), "tees!" blooming, and smelling the tulips.

She kept picking her dress up like a little lady. I just knew at any moment it was going to come up high enough to see diaper but it did not. She also spent some time stomping in her new shoes.

Sweet girl.

I liked this one. It looks like an old photo. They're always sad-like because someone is making them be still ;)

I think my fav- rosy cheeks and the lines of the fence and trees. If only she would hurry up and learn to smile on command!

Raegan enjoyed the snow this past week. She seems to like it alot better when it's just falling and not sticking to her "soos". And, yeah, she looked like a little hobo in the mixed prints :)

This first one says it all, right?

Attitude and sass abounds, although I got very good reports from all peeps left in charge. There was even some praise from another lady in the waiting room. Apparently she took good care of her baby, keeping it swaddled and diaper changed (Thanks again, Pops for teaching her that one) Raegan and my parents stayed at the hospital until I was back in a room and all stable and junk. We had pre-agreed that the shorter Raegan had to endure being good the better ;)

Must.have.chapsticks. This is the first time she's been turned loose with it though...

Baby Stella needed some too.

Yeah, good times. I hate I missed out on them. Raegan wasn't allowed to come back past the waiting room- a fact that wasn't told to me until I was already trapped in the back. I will brag that I handled it like a big girl although I did not want to :)

Lest the shoes think they have the accessories race won...Raegan tried out some fabulous headwear at Cracker Barrel after church today.

She then proceeded to tough out the day on a 15 minute nap...*sigh* But we made it to bedtime without any major meltdown due to Grammy and Grampa running interference!

Raegan is big into accessories...necklaces, purses, and SHOES oh my!

Raegan's Granna and I hit upon some deals at a local kids consignment shop on some awesome new shoes for Raegan. This is not helping her SA ("Soos" Anonymous)12 step program at all!

The shoes are all a little big so she has new ones as she grows, but she had to try them all on at the time...

Aunt Dollie also made her some new houseshoes that were just right for Christmas.

And Uncle Jeremy bought her some "Tiny Toms" for Christmas. Her college-aged teachers at school think they are the cutest things ever, and I have to agree...but Uncle Jeremy's Toms still look like little old man houseshoes!

Raegan stole her cousin Gracie's coat one night before Christmas. She decided that the coat's fur collar was quite regal and suited her temperment splendidly. She had her ~~Granna~~ servant assist her in keeping the coat perfectly adjusted, to the delight of the court.

Hello all! Well, what's waiting almost a whole year before blogging again. But at the suggestion of some family and friends I am revamping the blog a bit. Raegan has grown into an adorable, more than slightly high maintenence, but very fashionable kiddo. So they thought it would be funny and entertaining to document her fashion conquests...I have to get in gear and locate some of the newest pictures of Christmas outfits and "soos" and whatnot and then I'll get back to posting!

We had a snow day recently, well we drove through a snow day. We passed through the winter storm a few weeks back headed to LA and found all this beautiful snow at the Civil War park in Vicksburg, MS. There was about 6 inches of it, enough to do all this fun stuff...

Raegan has finally mastered the jumperoo. She took some good lessons from Ellie (on our trip to Shreveport) and Luke and the boys (at school). She can jump and spin and reach that little orange birdie to her heart's content now.

Other new things accomplished in February: belly laughs (see above), eating puffs and yogurt melts, and Riverdance (ask Drew)!

February is hot hot hot.

Well, Raegan is sprouting up a bit quicker than I anticipated and I'm afraid this won't still fit when summer finally gets here, so...we had a little dress-up party. Her first swimsuit, cute red bow and all.

She has another suit (purple!) in a larger size so we'll just wait and see what happens. At least she's growing up more than out so this oine may get to see a pool trip or two later.

Raegan loves EVERYBODY, but on this day Pops was king of the giggles. Big belly laughs and tickley toes. The whiskers might have something to do with it. ;)

Miss Raegan has heralded in 5 months with double! ear infections, complete with 102 fever and general grumpiness. A quick trip in to the doc and some good medicines later and she's back to her usual happy, smiley self.

New to her list of funnies is growling and "ranting" as her daddy puts it: minutes upon minutes of her yelling and talking to one of us or the dogs, or even a video on the laptop.

Also for 5 months we're experimenting with the Ferber Method to get her to soothe herself back to sleep and (hopefully) sleep better throughout the night. We've had some small battles won but we're still working on the war. While I'm typing this she's actually had her best night to date...and there I've probably just jinxed it but I had to brag a little.

Raegan has been learning to eat from a spoon, with varying degrees of success. She generally has fun no matter how much food is actually going in her (while the rest goes anywhere! else)

She eats and then enjoys sitting in her high chair chatting with Drew and I until we're done as well. So far Rice with applesauce or pears have been the big winners, bananas are tolerated (barely) and rice by itself now bores her.

Watching the Muppets with Daddy! She is also a fan of Fraggle Rock. We've decided kids shows just aren't what they used to be so we're stocking up on some oldies but goodies.

My mother's friend Leigh Ann is awfully crafty and sent Raegan a suprise the other day. A whole set of headbands and hair clips that are interchangeable with a bouquet of bejeweled flowers! Drew, not being as fashion forward as us gals isn't crazy about them but I fell hard for my little flower.

We had an impromptu fashion show/photo shoot after bath that night.

Raegan has been outgrowing clothes so fast! She's always getting too long for the clothes, not too plump. We just figure she's going to be tall like her daddy, but imagine my suprise when I first put her in her Jumperoo and she can't reach the floor to jump!

So, she had to borrow Roxy's pillow to give her a little boost.

Meet Raegan. 3 months of smiles and slobbers. big blue eyes and squishy cheeks. Happiest early in the morning (don't know who she got that from) with a fully tummy and clean underpants.
Meet Wubba. Life-saver of Raegan's parents, i.e. the enduring souls who have survived crazy dogs and colic. Wubba is (genious!) designed for tiny hands to hug onto so that one's pacifier doesn't fall out of one's sweet mouth and incite screams of anguish.
These. Are not Raegan's Wubbas. The green one will suffice when Wubba has to get a bath, but the others....well, she's not been kind in her rejections. They get a few seconds of cursory taste-testing before they are released from the mouth with the most disdainful of expressions... We'll keep trying I'm sure to graduate to a more convinent form of soothing, but for now Santa may have to bring a backup Wubba to our house.
